Priestlands celebrates Diamond Anniversary!
Join us for our 60th birthday celebrations - come to our open afternoon and claim your free cream tea!
This summer marks the 60th anniversary of the opening of Priestlands School in Lymington. To celebrate the school is organising an open afternoon to which everyone is welcome.
The open afternoon will take place between 1:30 and 4:30 on Thursday 6th July. All members of the community are welcome and the school would be particularly keen to see former pupils, parents and staff. Come and see how the school has changed over the last 60 years!
Planned events include:
- Gamelan performances
- Clay and lino cut workshops
- Photography exhibition
- Sneak preview of the school’s forthcoming production of the musical “Oliver!”
- Science experiments
- Maths challenges
- Poetry recitals
- Languages competitions
- Technology activities, including laser cutting, T-Shirt printing, 3D printing and a Scalextric challenge
- Computing masterclasses
- Volleyball matches
- Media green screen filming
- Looking at how Lymington has changed in the past 60 years and how it might change in the next 60!
- Battlefield medicine recreations
- Tours of the school
- … as well as the chance to enjoy a free cream tea* whilst watching gymnastics and a cricket match on the front field!
Chris Willsher, Headteacher of Priestlands School, said: “We very much hope to see large numbers of the community taking this opportunity of visiting their local secondary school and seeing it action. We are proud of this school and its many achievements; this is a chance for people to see us in action.”
