Santa will be in Lymington and Pennington in the run up to Christmas!

Once again Father Christmas will be appearing locally, with a grand arrival at the Town Quay on 17th December!

For over thirty years Lymington families have grown up with the Rotary Father Christmas travelling on his Sleigh around the Lymington and Pennington district, with the accompanying Christmas music.

This year again, children will be able to talk to Father Christmas about how good they have been and which gifts they are hoping to receive for Christmas, beginning at the Lymington Lights Evening on Friday 24th November. This wonderful event includes a Carol service outside St Thomas Church and a street market, with many local shops opening late for the evening.

The following week Father Christmas will be back at Pennington for their Christmas Lights Evening, along with market stalls, entertainment and bands.

Santa on the Quay

santas arrival at Lymington town quayThe most spectacular event will be Father Christmas arriving by the RNLI life boat at Lymington Town Quay on Sunday 17th December. This iconic event sees a flotilla of small craft accompanying the lifeboat which delivers Father Christmas and his elves to his sleigh on the Town Quay. There are side stalls to amuse the children and a magic show. Local shops and restaurants will be joining in the fun. This arrival is not one to be missed - and we think unique to Lymington!

Father Christmas will be outside the United Reform Church on Friday 15th December and in Lymington High Street on the 23rd December. Waitrose is hosting the sleigh on Friday 22nd and Saturday 23rd giving shoppers that last chance to have a chat before Christmas Day.

In addition to his public appearances, Father Christmas also visits a number of local schools, including St Josephs Pennington and St Luke’s in Sway.

After all this excitement in and around Lymington, Father Christmas will need to return home to check on his reindeer and finalise last minute details with his elves before the big night.

The Sleigh is stored by Manor Road Nurseries and maintained by Peter Cooper Removals, who will of course be transporting it safely to the North Pole ready for final checks before departure.
