The Oakhaven team is currently in the process of shaping the hospice’s strategy for the next 5-10 years and welcomes your input.
Oakhaven Hospice has been a vital part of our local community for over 30 years. This autumn Oakhaven invites you to come along to one of six informal sessions taking place across the New Forest, Totton and Waterside. This is your opportunity to find out more about your local hospice and the services it provides for local families - and to help Oakhaven to plan for the future.
Andrew Ryde, Chief Executive of Oakhaven, said: “We value the opinions and feedback of everyone in our community, which will help us understand the depth of awareness of Oakhaven and the vital services our teams provide. Your contribution will help us to shape the future of Oakhaven Hospice and ensure that we are meeting the future needs of families living throughout our New Forest, Totton and Waterside communities.”
Join the conversation over tea, coffee and biscuits!
Oakhaven’s informal meetings will be taking place in Milford on Sea, Hythe, Totton, New Milton, Lyndhurst and Lymington. At each, you'll have the opportunity to find out more about Oakhaven and to join the conversation about end of life care for you and your family. Everyone is welcome:

In the meantime, the hospice is conducting a survey - to complete the survey, please visit www.oakhavenhospice.co.uk/survey.
It costs £8 million each year to fund Oakhaven’s services. Yet just 11% of Oakhaven’s funding is covered by the NHS, for the remaining 89% the charity relies on your kind donations, fundraising, gifts in wills and income from the Oakhaven charity shops and social enterprise Oakhaven Care Ltd.
However, like many other hospices in the UK, the current cost-of-living crisis is having a highly detrimental effect on Oakhaven’s ability to generate sufficient income to cover day-to-day running costs. According to Hospice UK's quarterly financial benchmarking survey, the UK hospice sector, which supports 300,000 people annually, is facing a collective estimated deficit of £77 million in the financial year 2023-24.
