Chiropractic is ‘a health profession concerned with the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of mechanical disorders of the musculoskeletal system, and the effects of these disorders on the functions of the nervous system and general health. There is an emphasis on manual treatments including spinal adjustment and other joint and soft-tissue manipulation.’
(World Federation of Chiropractic (WFC) Dictionary Definition 2001)
Chiropractic is the largest form of alternative medicine in the world and was first founded in the 1890’s. It’s a manual therapy where gentle manipulation and mobilisation is used to remove restrictions and improve mobility of joints in the spine and limbs. All treatments are tailored to the specific needs of the individual.
Brockenhurst Chiropractic is a haven of calm in the midst of the bustle of Brockenhurst Village where Dr Nicola Happe offers her skilful services. Appointments
on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays during the day, together with some evening appointment slots available if you need to fit treatment in around work.
Now available in clinic, exercise rehabilitation: tailor-made exercise sessions specifically designed to aid recovery following pain or injury by restoring strength, endurance, flexibility and power. Rehabilitation is as important as treatment after an episode of pain to minimise reoccurrence of any injury and improve postural imbalances. The sessions will include correcting any faulty movement patterns, together with specific exercises to help strengthen any weak muscles and stretches to prolong the effects of treatment.
Dr Nicola Happé (ITEC, MChiro) Doctor of Chiropractic lived in Brockenhurst until the age of 11 and spent much of that time playing at Brockenhurst College with her grandparents, as her grandpa was the caretaker there for many years. She even learnt to ride a bike on the main driveway into the college.
Having studied at Highcliffe Secondary School followed by Brockenhurst College, Nicola worked in administration and sales for 15 years. During that time Nicola decided to learn about complementary therapies and, after experiencing a life-changing event, she had a complete career change and graduated with a merit from the Anglo-European College of Chiropractic in July 2014.
Now with 12 years experience in complementary medicine, Nicola really believes in the holistic approach to patient care whereby treating the whole body and not just the part that is in discomfort, maximising recovery and helping prevent reoccurrences.
Don't let pain get you down! Pain is a symptom there's something wrong, but the source of the problem isn't necessarily where the pain is. Read more chiropractic treatments at Brockenhurst Chiropractic and call or email Nicola for a first consultation!
