The Natural Health Hub is excited to be offering a Be Your Own Bodyguard women's self-defence course run by Guardian Self Protection. Run over six Thursday evenings, this is a very exclusive course with a restricted class size of eight students and two instructors, an ex-police instructor and a female self-defence expert, to offer you close attention and instruction.

We will teach a combination of the following:

  • Simple self-defence
  • Personal safety and safeguarding
  • Assessing situations and planning for your safety
  • Ketsugo martial arts – a street-optimised combination of aikido, krav maga, wing chun, taiho jutsu and the police officer safety training system

Our objectives are to empower you by making you better able to make safe judgements about your personal safety and by helping you become capable of neutralising any threats to your personal safety should the need arise. Our philosophy is ‘Be your own bodyguard!’ and that is exactly what we want to help you achieve.  Women of all ages and physical ability are catered for.  The instructors are Dr Caroline Wilkins who has trained in various forms of martial arts and former police officer and chief police officer safety instructor Rod Walton.   Both Rod and Caroline are passionate about teaching self-defence and martial arts.  They believe that anyone can be made safer with a bit of training – and the more training the better. Classes and courses are taught with the beliefs that people learn better when they are having fun, and that people should aim to be the best they can be.
