Is life too frantic? Want to slow it down and appreciate all that’s good in your day to day? Suffering from overload or anxiety, never have enough time, too much to do…? The practice of mindfulness can help with all that – and more. Mindfulness is a recognised way of reducing stress, managing time and priorities better, and giving you the tools to live more happily and feel more fulfilled. It has been found to promote health and well-being, improve mood and energy levels, relieve pain and reduce stress and anxiety. Mindfulness does not conflict with any beliefs or traditions. This is an introductory mindfulness course for adults, called Mindfulness Foundations. 

Course details

This mindfulness course offers you the opportunity to:

  • learn practical ways to feel calmer, less stressed and more energised
  • learn mindfulness skills to develop and take into your everyday life

Through group learning and discussion you will explore how mindful awareness can support your health and well-being and that of your family. The course will be taught by counsellor/psychiatrist Annie Davison who specialises in mindfulness. A maximum 10 delegates (minimum six) will be accepted on a first-come first-served basis.

The training includes some reading and 20 minutes’ daily practice, following guided mindfulness meditations. We will use a course book, Mindfulness: A Practical Guide to Finding Peace in a Frantic World by Mark Williams and Danny Penman (around £10).
