The Turfcutters is a cosy happy welcoming pub offering a wide range of ales and great pub food.
There's always a lit fire in the hearth to add to the warm atmosphere provided by hosts Simon, Ged and team.
There is a wide ranging food menu with daily specials listed on the board you can see in the photo. All the food is at realistic prices so dining out won't cost you a fortune.
Plus, if you visit the Turfs for the first time and mention you heard about this on Lymington.com Simon and Ged will give you a 10% discount off food too. You need to ask at the bar for a voucher which will then be valid for 12 months.
There are three dining areas all inter connected - including a large room at the back where you can still hear the music but chat too!
Large sunny garden with children's play area and summer bar
In the summer the enormous garden comes into its own, with lots of tables in the sunshine and a superb play area for the children. All our daytime live music events welcome the children too of course - we hope they'll all join in the dancing!
The Turfs also has a covered summer bar area with plenty of seating. Thats's where quiz nights take place when the weather is kind. Bank Holiday weekends there is nearly always live music in the garden and a BBQ. And in August there's the annual Beer Festival with a host of ales to try.
Several cycling groups visit regularly, lots of bike routes pass the pub - as well as our forest tracks, do enjoy our local lanes and the views from there of the Solent and Beaulieu River. But, when you arrive in need of ale and sustenance, please don't lean bikes against the fence!
On leads please. Water provided. Suitable treats available at the bar.
East Boldre has a very large donkey contingent and our visitors love to watch them - especially with their foals! As for the ponies well they're everywhere too!
Winter and spring sunsets viewed across the heath from East Boldre are spectacular, whilst those over nearby Hatchet Pond draw photographers from afar. On summer evenings you can enjoy the last of the sun from the pub garden.
If you check out the Turfs website you'll find a couple of good walks described.
And some interesting information about East Boldre too - it's a fascinating forest village with absolutely tons of local history.
Whatever time of the year, week and day we're here to welcome you - but these live music events are something else, so put the dates in your diary now.
