New Forest Hospital Radio says Big Thank You to NHS staff

Studio closed but the show goes on!

new forest hospital radio jim brenan and david bennettThe New Forest Hospital Radio studio is located on the first floor of the Lymington Hospital and is closed due to the pandemic. However, the varied selection of music and local interest shows are still being broadcast 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

The automated output is maintained remotely by the studio team who are a part of the station’s 50 volunteers.

Members wanted to say a big thank you to the dedicated commitment of the NHS staff in the hospital, local surgeries and around the area.

"Big Thank You" request show idea was born

And so the idea was born for the Big Thank You request show and 24 local Community Leaders and senior NHS Professionals were invited to make a musical request and say a few accompanying words.

Jim Brenan and David Bennett recorded the show from their homes and sent it to Studio Manager, Nigel Seth-Smith who remotely added it to the programme schedule.

Chairman Chris May said: “This had to be the way for the station to say thank you to the NHS in the way we know best. We hope that the NHS staff, hospital patients and the general public enjoy the show as much as I have.”

Thursday evenings on Hospital Radio - any time online!

You can listen to the show at 7.00pm on Thursday evenings, just before the nationwide 8.00 pm street cheer for the NHS.

You can do it by asking your smart speaker, signing in through TuneIn radio or through the New Forest Hospital Radio web site. The show is recorded and available at any time by visiting the web site www.nfhradio.org.uk

A big cheer for the Hospital Radio team too!

And now let’s ourselves appreciate the dedication of Jim Brenan, David Bennett and the rest of the Hospital Radio team – such unsung heroes themselves, behind the scenes determined through the crisis to continue their unstinting efforts to play uplifting music and selected line ups for the enjoyment of people in hospital for whatever reason, at any time.
