Acupuncture: a holistic approach to your health.
Acupuncture is one of the longest established forms of healthcare in the world having been practised in China and the far east for thousands of years.
At the heart of traditional acupuncture lies a person-centred therapeutic approach, where each person is recognised as a unique individual.
Lifestyle, life events and even seasonal changes can disturb, deplete or block our qi, which can result in symptoms of pain illness or disease. Acupuncture is aimed at the root cause of the condition as well as your main symptoms.
Treatment is aimed at the root of your condition as well as your main symptoms. This approach helps with resolving your problem and enhancing your feeling of wellbeing. You may notice other niggling problems resolve as your main health complaint improves.
Treatment involves the insertion of very fine needles into specific points on the body to affect the flow of your body’s qi (chee), or vital energy.
Treatment is individualised, two patients with the same symptoms may not have the same acupuncture points needled and points used may not be in the area of the patient’s symptoms.
The free consultation of 15 minutes gives you the opportunity to find out more about acupuncture. Thereafter your first actual acupuncture appointment will last around 90 minutes. Most of the time will be spent discussing your main complaint as well as all other aspects of your health. Your first consultation will also include a treatment. Subsequent sessions will last around 45 minutes.
Why choose acupuncture?
Many people use acupuncture for help with specific symptoms or conditions. Others choose acupuncture as a preventive measure to maintain their health.
When you come for acupuncture treatment with us, we give you plenty of time to discuss all aspects of your health. This gives us a holistic picture of what’s going on and allows us to tailor your treatment and advice according to your needs. We’ll formulate a treatment plan and assess your progress regularly as you come for treatments.
