Tom Power's amazing 24 hour tennis challenge.
Raising funds for Papyrus, young suicide prevention charity in memory of Jessica Eales.
Last weekend, Lymington Tennis Club was buzzing! Not only was the junior academy out in force for the annual junior club championships, but also with a 24 hour marathon by Tom Power. Tom started playing at 3pm on Saturday 16th and continued untli 3pm on Sunday 17th, during the Carnival Fete.
Many came along to support Tom, who played a variety of tennis slots continuously over the 24 hours, including an adult and child tournament, cardio tennis and even playing tennis with frying pans!! He finished off the afternoon and evening with a BBQ at Lymington Tennis Club.
Tom decided to raise funds for Papyrus, a charity aimed at preventing suicide in young people, in memory of his friend Jessica Eales. Suicide is the leading cause of young deaths in the UK. Papyrus deliver awareness and prevention training, provide confidential support and suicide intervention through HOPELineUK, campaign and influence national policy, and empower young people to lead suicide prevention activities in their own communities.
Tom has already raised over £1,600 and welcomes any further donations: www.justgiving.com/Tom-Power7
