Sweet-toothed Colten Care home residents were treated to special deliveries of eggs and chocolates for a lovely Easter celebration.

In what has become an annual custom, team members at Colten Care dressed up in Easter outfits and broke out the goodies all round.

At Outstanding-rated Kingfishers in New Milton, Hampshire, residents welcomed personal visits from Mrs Bunny and Easter Chick, aka Companionship Team Leader Rose Arcellana and Waitress Julieta Caires.

Rose said: “It’s been a tradition every year to give chocolates to our lovely residents and we wanted to keep the fun going.

“We had a mission to visit every resident and share the good wishes of Easter with them.”

Staff at Kingfishers also held an Easter raffle for colleagues and residents, raising more than £100 for Oakhaven Hospice and the inclusive cycling charity PedALL.

Resident Betty Kilford said: “The staff deserve a hearty ‘well done’ for organising the raffle and a big thank-you for all they do. They made Easter wonderful once again.”

Colten Care’s 20 other homes also celebrated Easter.

At art deco-themed Bourne View in Poole, Companionship Team Member Brian Ramsey arranged a special delivery of 30 Easter eggs gifted from Tesco in nearby Tower Park.

Brian said: “It brought smiles to our everyone’s faces and it was touching to share such joy in these strange and challenging times. We thank all at Tesco.”

Bourne View resident Elma Godsell said: “It’s so nice they thought of us, very kind. It was such a lovely way to celebrate Easter.”

Fellow resident Pat Tharme said: “I couldn’t believe the eggs were all for me. It was splendid.”
