Strictly Come Dancing in Lymington with Scott Bailey's Michal Kampa

Spotlight on New Forest ballroom dancing litigator

From dealing with disputes to dancing the quickstep -
and the waltz, foxtrot, cha-cha, jive, rumba and tango!

Long-established as a law practice in Lymington, the friendly Scott Bailey team provides a full range of legal services to private individuals and businesses throughout the New Forest and beyond. Each month we publish a new feature article about a different area of the law which Scott Bailey covers.

With Strictly season in full flow, and Strictly Lymington showcasing at the Community Centre this weekend, the spotlight shines this month on Scott Bailey’s very own ballroom dancing litigator, Michal Kampa.

Michal Kampa litigator at Scott Bailey

Michal and partner 600 wideMichal started ballroom dancing earlier this year, after being inspired to give it a go by his partner, who has previous competition experience. So, after joining a long-standing dance school, when he’s not dealing with disputes within our litigation team, he is learning the waltz, quickstep, foxtrot, cha-cha, jive, rumba and tango. He is discovering that after the first few difficult steps, he is finding his feet, gaining confidence and learning to navigate his way around the dance floor.

In ballroom dancing, to be successful, you have to make the right moves at the right time, following the rules for the particular dance, whether that is a ballroom dance, or a Latin number, all whilst putting your own flair into it. The same could be said for dispute resolution. To get the right outcome in any dispute, the right moves, in the right way at the right time are paramount to a successful outcome. Miss the timing, and it’s potentially a zero score for a client’s case.

Being able to use the complex Civil Procedure Rules of the courts to a client’s benefit, and knowing how and when to use alternative forms of dispute resolution requires more than just knowledge. Flexibility, intuition, and a high level of determination are also vital – just as for a successful dancer.

In work, as in dancing, we sometimes need the guidance of someone to help us take those first difficult steps. That is where straight talking litigators like Michal can help. If you are facing a potential dispute, whether personally or commercially, Scott Bailey’s dispute resolution lawyers are on hand to help, with support, guidance and the right advice for your situation, helping you successfully choreograph the best outcome.

The team at Scott Bailey would like to wish everyone taking part in Strictly Lymington the best of luck. Keep dancing! Maybe we’ll see Michal in it next year…
