Saturday Night Out in Lymington

Lymington is really buzzing on a Saturday Night!

Had a great evening out in Lymington this Saturday. First stop was recently opened La Primavera for really excellent pasta supper where I recommend their hand made "strozzapreti" (it's like stretched fusilli, and has a really firm texture as well as great taste) served with sauteed zucchini (ok courgette) and lots of smoked salmon, in a light sour cream sauce. Extremely good value I thought at £10.95

Then we called in to the King's Arms which was PACKED with happy people of all ages, quite a lot of them within confines of extremely limited space bopping to the irresistible beat of rock cover band Recluse playing great old R&R favourites. (Including drum solo in the style of those days!) What an amazing buzz Paul and Krisztina have created at the King's Arms. Such good news for Lymington!

Pictured is La Primavera's sea bream served on basil butter mashed potatoes with cherry tomatoes and olives - a bargain at £12.95. The new decor is smart yet informal, including the table greenery specially created by Yasmin Design just along the road - had a good chat with Viki who owns La Primavera and it's also good to learn how all the local businesses at the top end of town are supporting one another...
