Stop road killings of New Forest donkeys and ponies

Carnage - donkeys and pony killed on local roads in the New Forest

Please contact Hampshire Police if you have information

Two donkeys were mown down in one hit last week and another traumatic scene was photographed: one pony lying dead while her companion stood beside her.

These tragedies must stop. Drivers must appreciate the obvious - be aware, drive at a safe speed for the conditions. Make allowance for animals near to the roadside. We are so fortunate to live in such a beautiful part of the country, we know locals are responsible for most of these unnecessary deaths whilst visitors drive carefully - we must do more to reflect our pride in where we live, in the way we behave.

If you have any information about the car which hit the donkeys last Saturday on the B3054 Beaulieu to Dibden Purlieu road, there is a big reward. Anyone with information can contact Hampshire police on 101. Please do it.
