New Forest Paddle Sport SUP vs SUP (Single Use Plastic)

Coastal clear up in Lymington using Stand Up Paddle Boards.

New Forest Paddle Sport Company SUP vs Single Use Plastic 22 April 2018On Sunday 22 April 2018, the New Forest Paddle Sport Company ran a Stand Up Paddle Board (SUP) vs Single Use Plastic (SUP) event with Surfers Against Sewage Plastic Free Lymington and Coffee Mongers.

The team were on Lymington Quay from 10am to 2pm, talking to the public about litter in our coastal waters an how we all need to work together to do our little bit in removing rubbish from our stunning area.

Over the course of a few hours 10 bags of rubbish were collected from around the quay and the back of the ferry terminal. The rubbish collected was surprising - the hoard included a traffic cone, frisbee, bubble wrap and a cushion!

All the rubbish was collected by volunteer paddle boarders from the local area and further afield.

There is much more out there and the team will be returning during a high tide evening later in the year to remove as much as we can from no accessible areas.

If you would like to get involved with  litter picking SUP activities or any other Surfers Against Sewage Plastic Free Lymington events please contact the SAS Plastic Free Lymington Facebook page or The New Forest Paddle Sport Company.

The New Forest Paddle Sport Company are running a Stand Up Paddle Board Event at Hurst Castle on 4 and 5 May 2018 and run regular events such as Sunday Social Paddles and SUP-fit.
