The 3 day Lymington Seafood Festival takes place Friday 14, Saturday 15 and Sunday 16 July.

“Pop-Up Restaurant” is the big buzz in dining out right now, but what exactly is it?

It’s essentially a way for great chefs to showcase their culinary talents at a temporary location – which can include anything from an exclusive one-night food event to a venue open for a few months. In other words, it’s about the best chefs of the land creating amazing meals for temporary venues in special locations!

And that’s exactly what’s upcoming at this July’s Lymington Seafood Festival, on our Lymington doorstep, in a few short weeks’ time – and it’s time to book your table for Friday 14, Saturday 15 or Sunday 16 July!

The brilliant chef for this pop up is none other than Michelin Star Alex Aitken of Le Poussin, Harbour Hotels and The Jetty fame (National Seafood Restaurant of the Year in 2016 and The Times “Best Seafood Restaurants in the UK” in 2018).

And it’s to Alex’s Kitchen that you are invited, for your very special pop up dining experience.

Alex’s passion for seafood began as a young trawler man, giving him unparalleled knowledge of the ocean’s produce. His commitment to using seasonal and local ingredients is a philosophy that’s stood the test of time for almost five decades.

Pop Up Restaraunt 300x200The pop up dining menu which combines classic cooking techniques with “Catch of the Day” and the theatre of a giant American barbecue and smoker, has been created in partnership with New Forest Meadowbrook Produce which sources, grows, cures and produces the finest seasonal produce from land and sea. A truly delicious dining delight is in store!

Naturally diners will also be offered a selection of fine wines, craft gins, artisan rums, cocktails and award winning English sparkling wine from Hattingley Valley.

In order to pop up dine with Alex you will need an entrance ticket to the Seafood Festival itself, in its lovely location on Lymington River, in Bath Road Park - which incorporates not only its own centrepiece lake but also the lovely and historic Bandstand which also makes a brilliant stage for the live music.

This year’s festival promises its most diverse and best yet line up of artisan food and drink producers, great live music and entertainment including street performers and buskers.
