Careys Manor is the place to celebrate World Vegan Month!

New Forest Hotel puts veganism on the map with plant-based menus at each of their three restaurants.

The nation’s appetite for a meat-free diet is growing, with celebrities like Miley Cyrus, Liam Hemsworth, Ellie Goulding and David Haye among those embracing veganism. A survey by comparethemarket.com earlier this year revealed seven per cent of British people now eat a plant-based diet, with more than 3.5 million identifying as vegan.

Vegan Afternoon Tea at Careys Manor New ForestWorld Vegan Day is held on 1 November each year to mark the beginning of World Vegan Month, and vegans looking to celebrate will find a delicious range of meat and dairy-free dishes on the menu at luxury country house hotel Careys Manor in the heart of the New Forest.

A nutrient-rich food revolution at the hotel has seen the rolling out of a plant-based menu under the guidance of botanical superfood company Spring Green London, and a selection of vegetarian and vegan options is available at each of the hotel’s three onsite restaurants – the elegant Cambium, the Thai Zen Garden, and French bistro Le Blaireau.

Cambium head chef Alistair Craig has also devised a bespoke vegan à la carte menu and vegan afternoon tea.

His à la carte dishes include starters of red pepper and tomato gazpacho with avocado, and kumquat panisee with pumpkin and coriander seeds. Main courses include crisp aubergine samosa with quinoa salad and roasted grapes, and butternut squash purée with spiced cashew nuts, roasted beetroot and runner beans, finished with herbs from the hotel’s kitchen garden.

Careys Manor in the heart of the New Forest National ParkDelicious desserts feature options like beetroot and strawberry sorbet with New Forest strawberries and lemon balm, and avocado chocolate mousse with raspberry and orange.

Vegan afternoon tea sees the usual cream-filled fancies replaced with a selection of tempting treats that include a chocolate mousse pot, a seasonal fruit slice, a golden syrup rice crispy cake, and a coconut milk truffle, all served alongside a selection of open and finger sandwiches.

With the hotel’s enviable location at the heart of the forest, there’s plenty of opportunity to walk off all that fine food, and afterwards, take time to relax at the hotel’s luxury Thai SenSpa, with its world-class hydrotherapy pool and fitness suite.
