Celebrate food at Milford on Sea Food Week

The fifth Milford on Sea Food Week returns from

Bank Holiday Monday 28th March to Sunday 3rd April

 

Milford on Sea Food Week is very proud that it is a not for profit community event entirely coordinated by a small dedicated group of volunteers who provide their expertise and time for free. The Food Week organisers are more than satisfied that their sole reward is in seeing the enjoyment gained by people enjoying the events. There are over 150 events (168 events to be precise), 20 places to eat and 80 locals producers attending the Food Market.

 

Howard MiddletonCookery Theatre

There are loads of talks and demonstrations in the cookery theatre, here are just a few of the highlights:

 

  • Baking with Howard Middleton (from the Great British Bake Off)
  • An Afternoon with Rosemary Shrager
  • Only Fools and 3 Courses Lunch
  • Cooking with Ping - Masterchef Champion
  • Cooking for the Royal Family
  • Culinary Masterclass

There will be over 60 stall with local New Forest produce and homemade delights made in the village. You'll be able to find specialist local cheeses, pies, pasties, chutneys, preserves, cakes, desserts, bread, fruit & veg as well as meat and fish. Enjoy some live music as you stroll around the market on the High Street and Village Green and keep your energy up with food from one of the many street food vendors.

 

Restaurant Themed Dining Nights

Restaurants in Milford will be holding themed dining nights throughout Food Week.

 

Cake Fest

You can buy some delicious homemade cakes, chutneys, relishes and sauces, handmade chocolates from the Community Centre on Saturday 2nd April, all locally made. There will also be speciality teas from the Great Tea Co.

 

Vegetarian Fest

Enjoy some veggie food prepared by Tony and Yvonne Bishop-Weston, their menu on the day (Wednesday 30th March) will demonstrate how to make delicous vegetarian food with all of the nutrients that your body needs.

 

Milford food week cookery theatreOther activities

As well as demos in the Cookery Theatre there will also be talks and demos for children and adults in the Community Centre, live music and even a beer festical in other local venues. You can find out about artisan beer and spirits, spend some money at pop up shops, go to lambing live, the children can have a go at making pastry or cookie decorating and much more. Food Week is truly a ‘By the community, for the community’ event, so please come and join in or simply enjoy!
