Twenty Four Hours, One Hundred and Seven Kilometres and Four Thousand, Five Hundred and Fifty Pounds: on Saturday 2 May, five colleagues at Scott Bailey Solicitors in Lymington completed the Isle of Wight Ultra Challenge and raised over £4,550 for Macmillan Cancer Support.
107km, one island, and a challenge that does not stop
Over the weekend of 2 May 2026, five members of the Scott Bailey LLP team took on the Isle of Wight Ultra Challenge - a demanding 107km route around the entire island. It is the kind of challenge that sounds impressive on paper, but in reality, tests far more than just physical endurance.
The challenge consists of continuous movement over long distances, across varied and often uneven coastal terrain, and crucially, through the night. As most people were settling into bed on Saturday night, our team were still walking - pushing through fatigue, managing sore muscles, and keeping their focus in the dark hours when the challenge arguably becomes as much mental as it is physical.
Events like this require more than preparation. They demand resilience, determination, and the ability to keep going when stopping would be far easier. But the motivation behind the challenge was always greater than the distance itself. Together, the team has raised over £4,550 for Macmillan Cancer Support. The funds will go towards supporting individuals and families affected by cancer, helping to provide practical, emotional, and financial support at some of the most difficult times in people’s lives.
Taking on 107km around an island is no small feat. Completing it within 24 hours makes it even more extraordinary. Doing so while raising a significant amount for charity makes it something truly worth recognising. A huge congratulations to everyone involved - an outstanding achievement for an important cause.
