The team at New Forest Escapes is delighted to be sponsoring Oakhaven Hospice’s inaugural Treecycle campaign.
Jane Wilkinson, Managing Director of the local award-winning holiday home rental experts, is encouraging as many people as possible to support Oakhaven Hospice’s ‘tree-mendous’ new Treecycle initiative.
Jane says: ‘We are absolutely delighted to be partnering with Oakhaven Hospice for the first year of their tree-mendous Christmas tree recycling initiative. As a proud B-Corp, we are always looking for meaningful ways to give back to our community and reduce our environmental footprint. This partnership not only supports vital hospice care to local patients and their families, but ensures that something as simple as recycling a Christmas tree can make a real difference — both for people and the planet.’
From 8-12 January 2026, Oakhaven Treecycle volunteers will be collecting Christmas trees from houses in the SO41, SO42, SO45 and BH25 postcodes and taking them to be recycled. To take part, simply book your collection online via oakhavenhospice.co.uk/treecycle/ for a suggested minimum donation of £15 per tree.
Collaboration and support
Jane adds: ‘This is in line with our ethos here at New Forest Escapes to collaborate with and support businesses, individuals and organisations to shape a sustainable, thriving infrastructure here in the New Forest. At the same time, we are helping one of our most respected, much needed and used local charities, Oakhaven Hospice. So many of us here in the New Forest have relied on the Hospice’s services for the care of a loved one. It is wonderful to start the New Year by giving back to them by sponsoring this new, practical, useful, and sustainable service.
A win-win recycling initiative
‘The simplest New Year’s resolutions are the best and this one is a win-win as Oakhaven Hospice’s Treecycle initiative makes life much easier post-festivities, and keeps the family car pine needle free! Rather than transporting your tree to one of the drop-off points provided by local councils, volunteers come and collect trees from your home.
‘This was a team decision. We decided, Instead of distributing our usual Christmas gifts, as supporting local is what we care about, to sponsor Oakhaven Hospice’s new initiative – our gift to the wider local community.’
